About the Role
UPLIFT Public Charter Schools is seeking a dynamic and experienced Dean of Students and Instruction to provide leadership and oversight for student support services and instructional programs. The Dean of Students and Instruction will play a key role in promoting a positive school culture, supporting student success, and ensuring academic excellence across our campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and supervision for student support services, including student discipline, behavior management, counseling, and social-emotional learning programs.
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, counselors, and support staff to develop and implement strategies for promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Oversee the implementation of evidence-based practices and interventions to address student behavior issues, reduce disciplinary incidents, and support positive student outcomes.
Conduct regular observations and evaluations of classroom instruction and provide feedback and support to teachers to improve instructional practices and student engagement.
Collaborate with instructional leaders and curriculum coordinators to ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment with state standards and best practices.
Coordinate the development and implementation of professional development programs and resources to support teacher growth and development in areas such as classroom management, differentiated instruction, and culturally responsive teaching.
Analyze student achievement data and collaborate with school leadership and instructional staff to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions to support student learning and achievement.
Serve as a liaison with parents, guardians, and community stakeholders to address concerns, provide support, and promote partnerships to enhance student success.
Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in education, student support services, and instructional leadership, and share relevant insights and recommendations with the school community.
Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal or leadership team.
Requirements
Master's degree in Education, School Counseling, School Administration, or related field.
Texas Principal Certification or eligibility for certification.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in education, with demonstrated leadership experience in student support services and instructional leadership.
Knowledge of effective practices in student behavior management, counseling, social-emotional learning, and instructional leadership.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to support student success.
Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and educational technology tools.
