About Us
UPLIFT Public Charter Schools, Inc. is a visionary educational organization representing a forthcoming network of college-preparatory and career-ready public charter schools, currently under development in Houston, Texas. Launching in Fall 2028, UPLIFT will welcome scholars with a strategic plan to expand annually and serve approximately 900 students by the year 2035.

In addition to operating its own campuses, UPLIFT Public Charter Schools, Inc. will provide student tutorial services and staffing support to neighboring school districts and private schools—broadening our reach and reinforcing our commitment to educational excellence across communities.

Our organization is led by Founder and CEO Julian L. Lewis and Chief of Staff and Co-Founder LaKis Sims, whose shared vision centers on restoring joy in learning. This mission comes to life through thoughtfully crafted lessons, collaborative environments, and a culture that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and student empowerment.
To support student well-being and engagement, UPLIFT incorporates daily brain break sessions and offers distinctive recreational amenities, including a video gaming café, Open gym, and a Student Chill Lounge equipped with air hockey, pool tables, and more!—creating a dynamic space where scholars can relax, recharge, and thrive.
